The most prestigious place to live in North Jakarta is Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK). It is a residential complex located in Penjaringan, North Jakarta. Pantai Indah Kapuk has no significant different with other CBD in South Jakarta or West Jakarta, such as Menteng, Pondok Indah and Puri Indah. Although most of land in PIK were occupied by residential, other building like shop houses, offices, shopping center and  entertainment venues can also be found in this area. Making it convenience for living. 

Inside PIK, there is apartment that lies within a close distance from North Jakarta’s seashore, called Gold Coast apartment. The apartment has direct access to highway and easy access to Soekarno-Hatta airport. Besides highway, Gold Coast apartment also close to many public facilities, from entertainment venues to education center, for instance Tzu Chi School, PIK Avenue, Fresh Market, Water Boom, etc. Moreover, since Gold Coast apartment has a concept of Water Front City, it provides water treatment plant, which enable residents to drink right from the tap water.

FACILITIES IN GOLD COAST APARTMENT

Gold Coast apartment has exclusive facilities and residents should use their access card in order to get access to every single facility at this apartment. Most facilities in Golden Coast apartment are located on the first floor. The first floor connects the four tower, so residents of each tower can use facilities with ease. Here are facilities on the first and ground floor.  

1. Outdoor Swimming Pool

Outdoor swimming pool in Gold Coast apartment is located on the ground floor. It is an enormous-size swimming pool that featured palm trees and several kinds of green plant. You will experience swimming at resort-like ambiance, not to mention a jacuzzi beside the pool which could pamper your feeling. Located next to swimming pool, there is also kid’s playground for your children. 

1. Indoor Adult Swimming Pool

Gold Coast apartment provides indoor adult swimming pool for those who is always excited about swimming but doesn’t want to get too much sun exposure. Here, residents can swim freely start from 9:00 am to 21:00 pm. With sufficient brightness level and nice ambiance inside, residents could enjoy their free time and stay relaxed. 

2. Children’s Swimming Pool

Indoor adult swimming pool is not compatible for your kids to swim at, unless their swimming skill are above average. If your kids want to play with water, adjacent to adult indoor pool, there is a kids swimming pool. The size is smaller and the pool depth is very safe for your kids. You could also watch them while they were swimming, because there is some comfortable bench to sit on. 

3. Kid’s Playground

Another facilities for your kids to play with is kid’s playground. The amenities inside are slider, toys, balls and colorful chairs. Even though there are not so many toys in the playground, the room is very spacious, so your kid’s can play around even running here and there safely. 

4. Gym

Gym in Golden Coast has comfortable atmosphere and spacious room. Not only that, the gym also has sufficient equipment, so residents don’t have to queuing up when they want to do their session. Doing exercise in this gym is not boring at all, since there is television installed at the top of the gym wall. 

5. Multi Function Room

The presence of multi function room at Gold Coast apartment could benefited residents who are frequently hold a meeting. With spacious room and capacity over 30 people, holding business meeting or even seminar in this room can be very convenient. Be sure to contact the estate prior to use the multi function room.  

6. KTV Room

KTV room is probably the most interesting and unusual facility I could find at Gold Coast apartment. Here, residents can sing their favorite song with friends or family. When I was there, the room was empty. However the karaoke gear are still there, so I assume this room is worked and could operate regularly. Residents should only contact estate management to use this facility. 

7. Library

Reading at apartment unit might be comfortable and practical, however, if you demand new atmosphere, reading at apartment library could be a good way to enjoy your book. Here you could find many fluffy couches. However, the bookshelf is still empty. It looks like estate management is still constructing the facility. 

8. Park

Residents don’t have to go outside to breathe some fresh air, because there is park located on the first floor. The park featured many green plants that could produce more oxygen. The wind at this floor also blows nicely. 

9. Basketball and Tennis Court

In Gold Coast apartment, basketball and tennis court are lies within the same field. It is a raised court encircled by fencing wire. Since it is an outdoor court, the temperature can be very hot, moreover during sunny day.

ENVIRONMENT AROUND THE APARTMENT

In my opinion, Gold Coast apartment has a unique environment that is different from other apartment in Jakarta. When it was sunny, the temperature can be very hot. This isn’t due to air pollution from vehicle emission, but the onshore breeze which blown from north coast. No wonder in the middle of the day, you will experience dry and hot air. Moreover, when you are at the top floor, the temperature could be more challenging. 

No need to worry, even though the temperature can sometime be hard to endure, the surrounding environment would enhance the coolness, as there are many mangrove trees planted there. I’m sure the appearance of mangrove would also helps to prevent flood when wet weather come. 

On the north side of apartment, you can see infamous land reclamation that is still under development. It looks like the land is slowly developed and maybe in the future, when all controversies regarding the reclamation matter are settled, it will become even busier district than today. Thus, investing in Gold Coast apartment can be promising. 

At the unit, you will experience hot temperature if you’re not turning the AC on. The temperature become quickly cooler as you turn on the AC. Unfortunately, there is not much AC at the apartment corridor. Even the lift feels hot. You would prefer be at lobby than those two places.   

One thing I want to highlight is the scenery at the top floor in the afternoon is very awesome. You will see sky horizon along with orange dim light from the sun. I guess, sunset in Gold Coast apartment is something that residents shouldn’t miss.

UNIT CONDITION

Generally there are two types of room leased by Gold Coast apartment, Studio and 1BR. The amenities in studio unit includes 1 bathroom, kitchen, AC, access card, refrigerator, hot water tap and television. For 1BR unit, the amenities include AC, hot water tap, dining set, 1 bathroom, access card, kitchen, refrigerator and television. 

The most noticeable differences between the two units are their room size. The size of studio unit is 28 sqm and 51 sqm for 1BR unit. For the price range, 1BR unit is the most expensive, Rp 6.750.000 (unfurnished) per month, followed by studio unit, Rp 5.850.000 (unfurnished) per month. 

I had an opportunity to visit studio and 1BR room in Golden Coast apartment. The 1BR unit is quite spacious. There is a living room combined with kitchen and dining table, however, there were many spaces left. You may put your new furniture inside living room, but not the big one. The dining table is very small. It is compatible for one or two person eating together, but not a family with one kids. There is a bedroom with a double bed and a closet. You could see surrounding scenery from here, as there is a big window that allows sunlight to come in. How about the bathroom? Well, I don’t see any bathtub there, just shower and sink with hot and cold water tap.

1BR unit at Gold Coast apartment is good for single employee and young married couple who doesn’t have kids. It applies to studio unit as well. The difference is its size. The studio unit could be in the half size of 1BR unit, thus it might look very narrow when you are living with your spouse. The kitchen in studio unit is also narrow and occupied a small portion of the room. When there is someone cooking at your studio kitchen, you cannot pass the person or open the door unit. So, in my opinion, it would be best for unmarried person to live here, since it could provides private living and comfortableness for one person.
